Editorial Standards
Seed Manitoba Editorial Guidelines and AI Use Policy
Updated: October 2026
All editorial content published by Seed Manitoba must meet our standards for accuracy, credibility, originality and editorial integrity.
AI Use Policy
Seed Manitoba permits the use of artificial intelligence as an editorial support tool. AI may assist with research, brainstorming, organization, transcription, summarization, editing, content structure and refinement. AI may also be used to explore ideas, identify gaps and improve clarity. Seed Manitoba authors and editors remain responsible for the reporting, analysis, accuracy and editorial judgement behind everything we publish.
AI-generated information may not be treated as a source. Facts, quotes, statistics and claims introduced through AI must be independently verified before publication. AI may never be used to fabricate quotes, sources, interviews, events, research findings or other factual information.
Images, Audio and Video
AI-generated or materially AI-altered imagery, audio and video must be reviewed by an editor. Where such content could reasonably be mistaken for authentic photography, audio, video or documentary material, its use must be clearly disclosed.
AI may not be used to create misleading representations of real people, interviews or events.
Editorial Responsibility and Transparency
Seed Manitoba retains editorial responsibility for everything it publishes.
Routine AI use for research support, brainstorming, transcription, organization, editing and other assistive purposes does not ordinarily require individual disclosure when the finished work has received meaningful human editorial review.
When AI-generated or significantly AI-manipulated content materially changes what a reader is seeing, hearing or experiencing, Seed Manitoba will provide appropriate disclosure.
Seed Manitoba may update this policy as AI tools, editorial practices and legal requirements evolve.
